Dank, resinous, and bitter in exactly the right way.

A fresh wort kit for brewing a West Coast IPA at home — the cleaner, crisper, more aggressively hopped cousin of the hazy IPA that the American West Coast has been perfecting for decades. This kit delivers that unmistakable West Coast character: pine and grapefruit upfront, tropical fruit underneath, and a dry, bitter finish that lingers in the best possible way.

Where the hazy IPA is soft and juicy, the West Coast IPA is sharp and direct. The malt base is lean enough to get out of the way and let the hops drive, which is exactly what they do. This is a beer for hop lovers who want their bitterness to be honest and their aroma to be present in the room before the glass arrives.

Yeast not included. Makes 20 litres. FWKs are available instore or via local delivery only.

Brewing Instructions

Step 1: Decant the fresh wort into a clean and sanitised fermenter.

Step 2: Add 5 litres of water to bring the total volume to 20 litres.

Step 3: Take a sample of your wort and use a hydrometer to measure the original gravity.

Step 4: Aerate the wort and pitch your yeast.

Step 5: If dry hopping, add your hops when fermentation is nearly complete. Leave for no more than 3 days.

Step 6: Once fermentation is complete, cold crash or transfer directly to bottles or a keg for conditioning.

Step 7: Enjoy responsibly.

Note: Adding water is optional.
Skipping this step will produce a beer with a higher ABV and a lower yield.
