Still Spirits American Charred Oak Carboy Spiral

Infusion spirals are a fast, simple way to extract oak aroma and flavour without the price of a barrel — easy to drop into a carboy or bottle, and easier to remove than filtering out chips.

The charred version takes the oak further than medium toast: the intense heat creates a caramelised layer on the wood surface that contributes deep vanilla, toffee and smoky notes, along with the characteristic sweetness associated with American bourbon-style spirits.

Charred oak also has a filtering effect, removing sulphur compounds from the spirit as it contacts the carbon-rich char layer.
