Tinting agent — add to adjust the darkness of your homemade spirits. Particularly useful for whiskey, rum, brandy and other dark spirits.
Distiller's Caramel (E150a) is the same tinting agent used by commercial distilleries to standardise the colour of their products across batches.
It adds depth of colour without significantly affecting flavour at normal usage levels.
Start with small additions and stir well before assessing, as a little goes a long way.
