The Kiwis took on the Americans and made something seriously good. Black Rock American Pale Ale is a Crafted-series APA brewed with Ale, Lager, Caramalt and specialty malts, then dry-hopped with US Cascade pellets straight in the can for that classic citrus aroma right out of the gate.
Rich amber colour, caramel backbone, moderate 27 IBU bitterness and a bright citrus nose. This is a proper American-style pale ale that punches well above its price point.
For best results, use Black Rock Unhopped Ultralight Malt as your fermentable to get the full malt body this recipe is built for.
Makes 23 litres (about 60 stubbies or 47 schooners). Yeast included under the lid.

- Colour: Rich amber (SRM 6)
- Body: Medium with caramel sweetness and Cascade citrus aroma
- ABV: approx. 4.5% using 1.7kg Black Rock Unhopped Ultralight Malt (recommended)
