Your reliable, every-occasion Pale Ale — Brick Road Pale Ale is a Down Under style you can brew at any strength and take anywhere you want with your own hop additions.

The Brick Road Pale Ale is the blank canvas version reliable, balanced and easy to drink on its own, but genuinely great when you make it your own. Add dry hops at day five and you can take it anywhere from a classic Aussie pale to something that sits alongside craft tap handles without embarrassment. Good entry point for new brewers, solid base for brewers who like to tinker.

ABV options:

  • 2.6% - light-bodied session pale
  • 3.5% - mid-strength everyday pale ale
  • 4.8% - full-strength Pale Ale with proper body and character

What you get:

  • 1.5kg can of hopped Pale Ale wort concentrate (Muntons all-grain premium malts)
  • Ale yeast sachet under the lid
  • Makes 23 litres

Dry hop it for that classic flavour:

  • 30-100g of New World hops like Galaxy, Pride of Ringwood, or Eclipse for Aussie character
  • 30-100g of NZ's Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin or Motueka for fruity, zesty vibes
Brewing Instructions

How to brew your Brick Road Pale
Ale:

  1. Pop the lid and retrieve the yeast sachet from underneath. Set aside.
  2. Stand the can in hot water for 5 to 10 minutes to soften the wort.
  3. Dissolve the contents into 2 litres of hot water in a clean, sanitised fermenter.
  4. Add your choice of adjunct (see ABV options above) and stir until fully dissolved.
  5. Top up with cold water to reach 23 litres. Stir well and check the temperature is between 18 and 28 degrees C.
  6. Sprinkle the yeast over the wort surface, seal and fit the airlock.
  7. Fermentation usually kicks off within 6 to 12 hours.
Leave it for 7 days minimum.
  8. Once the gravity is stable for two consecutive days, you are ready to bottle or keg.

Pro tip: Want to lift this into craft territory? Add 50 to 100g of Cascade, Galaxy or Citra as a dry hop at day five to seven.
