Light, fresh and built for your hop additions

Brick Road Classic Pacific Pale Ale gives you the clean base to brew a Pacific pale your way.

The extra light malt base keeps things clean and bready, which is exactly what you want when the hops are the star. Add at least 30g of your preferred hops and this goes from a solid everyday pale to something genuinely impressive. Cascade and Citra for citrus, Galaxy for big tropical fruit, Nelson Sauvin for white grape and passionfruit notes.

What you get:

  • 1.5kg can of hopped Pacific Pale Ale wort concentrate
  • Ale yeast under the lid

Recommended fermentables:

How much beer does it make? 23 litres (that is approximately 61 stubbies).

Get creative and brew it at home your way with hop additions - at least 30g of  Cascade, Citra, Galaxy, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin or Motueka hops.

    Brewing Instructions

    Extract Can Brewing Instructions

    1. Clean & sanitise. Everything that touches your beer. No shortcuts.
    2. Make your wort. Pour 2L boiling water into fermenter. Soften can in hot water (10 mins), empty into fermenter. Add fermentables (~1kg), stir until dissolved. Top up to 23L. Wort made. Legend.
    3. Cool & pitch. Cool to 18-22°C, take a gravity reading, sprinkle yeast on top.
    4. Ferment. Seal up, add airlock, find a dark spot at 18-22°C. Dry hop on day 4 if your recipe calls for it — just chuck 'em in.
    5. Check gravity. From day 5, take readings on consecutive days. Two identical readings under 1.016? You're done.
    6. Package. Bottle with carbonation drops or priming sugar, or keg it. Bottles need 2-4 weeks. Kegs are faster — obvious choice.
    7. Drink & brag. You made beer. Get around it.
