T 500 Column O Ring/ Alembic Condenser O Ring

The O-ring sits in the groove of the main T500 column and seals the joint between the column and the T500 boiler lid, preventing alcohol vapour from escaping at this connection point.

The T500 has several connection points where vapour could potentially escape: the boiler lid seal, the column-to-lid joint, and the column-to-condenser connection.

This O-ring is responsible for the column-to-lid joint specifically. It is also the correct O-ring for the Alembic Condenser lid.

If you notice vapour escaping from the column base during a run, or if the O-ring is visibly cracked, hardened or no longer round in cross-section, it is time to replace it.

A failed O-ring here means the still is not operating safely or efficiently.
