Still Spirits T500 Boiler Flat Silicone Lid Seal

The flat silicone lid seal is the gasket that sits between the T500 boiler lid and the rim of the boiler body, creating a vapour-tight seal during distillation.

During a T500 run, the boiler is under slight positive pressure from the heated wash.

Any gap at the lid seal allows alcohol vapour to escape into the room rather than travelling up through the column and condenser.

This means lost yield, potential safety concerns from alcohol vapour accumulating, and an inaccurate distillation.

Silicone is used because it is food-safe, withstands repeated high-temperature cycles without hardening or cracking, and is inert to alcohol.

Replace when the seal is visibly hardened, cracked, compressed flat, or distortion prevents it seating evenly.
