Still Spirits Clamping Wire Clip

The clamping wire clip holds the T500 boiler lid firmly sealed onto the boiler body during distillation, preventing the lid from lifting under the slight positive pressure that builds inside the boiler.

During a T500 run, the heated wash generates vapour pressure inside the boiler. The wire clip works by tensioning across the lid and boiler rim, compressing the flat silicone lid seal and maintaining a vapour-tight joint.

Without it the lid can lift slightly, breaking the seal and allowing vapour to escape — which means lost yield and alcohol vapour in the room. The clip mechanism can fatigue and lose tension over time, particularly with frequent use.

If the lid feels loose during a run, or the clip no longer holds tension properly, replace it.
