The blue lower lid (part TPE-0016) is the base closure of the EZ Filter housing, sealing the bottom of the unit and directing filtered spirit out through the outlet tap.

The lower lid is blue for easy identification during reassembly — it is the base, the large cap is the top.

Together they enclose the cartridge inside the housing.

The lower lid takes the most mechanical stress during normal use as it sits under the weight of the filled housing.

If it cracks, warps or the outlet thread fails, spirit will leak from the base of the filter.
