Digital Thermometer - Alembic Dome

The digital thermometer for the Alembic Dome provides accurate vapour temperature readings during pot still distillation — essential for knowing when to take cuts and when to stop.

In pot still distillation, vapour temperature rises progressively as the run proceeds. Different compounds in the distillate vapourise at different temperatures: foreshots and early heads come over first at lower temperatures, hearts (the best quality spirit) come over in the middle range, and heavier tails compounds arrive as temperature rises further. By watching the thermometer throughout the run, you can identify these phases and collect accordingly.

The Alembic Dome thermometer fits into the thermometer port on the dome top and gives a precise digital reading of the vapour temperature at that point in the system.
