The 1.5" Tri-Clamp is the stainless steel clamp band that holds the Filter Pro hopper firmly onto the top of the carbon column.

Tri-clamps are the industry standard connection method in food-grade and distilling equipment because they create a secure, leak-proof seal that can be opened and closed without tools, making cleaning and reassembly fast and straightforward. The hinge-and-latch design means the hopper can be removed between batches in seconds.

Over time the clamp mechanism can loosen or the band can deform, particularly if dropped. If the hopper feels loose or spirit is seeping at the hopper-to-column join, this clamp is the fix.
