White Pointer is a triple-hopped extract can kit that makes 21 litres of a tropical, fruit-forward XPA.

Styled on Balter's XPA - this kits makes about 56 stubbies or 44 schooners per batch. It's a fully-hopped brew for XPA fans and beginner brewers who want big Centennial, Citra and Amarillo flavour in every glass - the kind of home brew you won't want to share with your mates.

Q: How does this kit compare to the beer it's styled on?

A: We've built this one around Centennial, Citra and Amarillo hops — the same tropical, fruity punch that's made Balter's XPA one of Australia's favourite craft beers. It's fully hopped and doesn't hold back, so if you're chasing that XPA hit at home, this is the kit to reach for.

Q: What equipment do I need beyond what's in the kit?

A: The kit's got your extract can, malt/dextrose, yeast and hops sorted. You'll still need your own fermenter, a hydrometer, and the usual sanitising and bottling or kegging gear. No kit yet? Check out our starter equipment range and we'll sort you out.

Q: How long does it take to brew and how long until it's ready to drink?

A: Ferment for at least 5 days, dry hop with the Centennial, Citra and Amarillo on day 4, then give it another 5-7 days to clear once fermentation's done. Bottling? Condition for at least 2 weeks at 18-22°C before you crack one open. All up, budget about 4 weeks from brew day to first pour.

Q: Can I pick this up in-store or does it have to be delivered?

A: Both — order online for delivery across NSW and most of Australia, or swing by our Newcastle store and grab it in person. Either way, we've got you covered.
