Resinous, floral, and built to take the field. Meet the Legbreaker.

A fresh wort kit for brewing an American IPA at home that does exactly what the style is supposed to do: take a solid malt backbone and cover it in resinous, floral American hop varieties until the balance is firmly in the hops' favour — but the beer is still genuinely drinkable. The Legbreaker is a determined all-rounder: not the flashiest IPA in the range, but one of the most reliable and satisfying.

This is the IPA for people who want proper hop presence without the style veering into extreme bitterness territory. It is an IPA that earns its place in the range by being consistently excellent and consistently enjoyable — the kind of beer you brew more than once because it always delivers exactly what you want from it.

The wort contains Columbus, Centennial, and Citra hops. Yeast not included. Makes 20 litres. FWKs are available instore or via local delivery only.

Brewing Instructions

Step 1: Decant the fresh wort into a clean and sanitised fermenter.

Step 2: Add 5 litres of water to bring the total volume to 20 litres.

Step 3: Take a sample of your wort and use a hydrometer to measure the original gravity.

Step 4: Aerate the wort and pitch your yeast.

Step 5: If dry hopping, add your hops when fermentation is nearly complete. Leave for no more than 3 days.

Step 6: Once fermentation is complete, cold crash or transfer directly to bottles or a keg for conditioning.

Step 7: Enjoy responsibly.

Note: Adding water is optional.
Skipping this step will produce a beer with a higher ABV and a lower yield.
