Crisp, dry, and lean. The Consequences Lager — no apologies, no compromises.

A fresh wort kit for brewing a proper lager at home that bucks the trend and gets back to what the style is actually supposed to be: crisp, dry, clean, and refreshing without being boring. The Consequences Lager is built on a lean pale malt base with subtle bitterness and a finish that is as clean and dry as a lager finish is supposed to be — the consequence of ignoring fashion and focusing entirely on making a great beer.

In a world full of heavily hopped everything, a well-made lager is a statement. This kit produces 20 litres of the kind of lager you can drink all afternoon without it getting in the way of itself — clean enough to pair with food, flavourful enough to drink on its own, and easy enough to brew that you will have it in the fermenter before you second-guess the decision.

For best results, ferment cold using a clean lager yeast at 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. Yeast not included. Makes 20 litres. FWKs are available instore or via local delivery only.

Brewing Instructions

Step 1: Decant the fresh wort into a clean and sanitised fermenter.

Step 2: Add 5 litres of water to bring the total volume to 20 litres.

Step 3: Take a sample of your wort and use a hydrometer to measure the original gravity.

Step 4: Aerate the wort and pitch your yeast.

Step 5: If dry hopping, add your hops when fermentation is nearly complete. Leave for no more than 3 days.

Step 6: Once fermentation is complete, cold crash or transfer directly to bottles or a keg for conditioning.

Step 7: Enjoy responsibly.

 Note: Adding water is optional.
Skipping this step will produce a beer with a higher ABV and a lower yield.
