Still Spirits Air Still Rubber Ring

The rubber ring is the sealing gasket between the Air Still head unit and the boiler body, creating an airtight, vapour-tight joint so that alcohol vapour cannot escape during distillation.

This seal is critical. If vapour escapes at the head-to-boiler joint rather than travelling up through the condenser, yield drops and the spirit can carry impurities from the leakage point.

The rubber ring sits in a groove around the base of the head unit and compresses against the boiler rim when the head is locked in place.

With repeated heating and cooling cycles the rubber can harden, crack or deform and lose its sealing ability.

If you notice vapour escaping from the body joint during distillation, or if the ring is visibly cracked or misshapen, replace it with this part.
